Different types of pallet racking cater to specific storage needs and warehouse operations. Here are the most common types:

Selective Racking: Most common, offers direct access to every pallet (100% selectivity). Ideal for high SKU variety.
Drive-In / Drive-Through Racking: High-density, forklifts drive into lanes. Drive-in is LIFO (Last-In, First-Out), Drive-Through is FIFO (First-In, First-Out). Best for large volumes of uniform products.
Push-Back Racking: High-density, uses wheeled carts on inclined rails. LIFO, good for medium-turnover SKUs.
Pallet Flow Racking (Live Racking): High-density, uses gravity-fed rollers. FIFO, ideal for perishable goods or strict rotation.
Double Deep Racking: Stores pallets two deep from the same aisle, requires a specialized forklift. Increases density over selective but is LIFO.
Cantilever Racking: Designed for long, bulky items (e.g., lumber, pipes), offering unobstructed front access.
Adjustable Pallet Racking: A general term for systems where beam heights can be easily changed, providing flexibility. Teardrop is a common style of adjustable racking.
